Martyrdom of Syed Na Umar Farooq

a tragic tragedy It was Wednesday, 27 Dhu al-Hijjah, 23 Hijri, when Sayyid Umar Farooq was leading the Fajr prayer in the Prophet's Mosque.
He was wounded and fell down, and then Hazrat Abd al-Rahman bin Auf led the prayer. The unfortunate killer, while running away from the mosque, stabbed around 13 Muslims, of which 7 were martyred and later committed suicide after being caught.

He ordered his son Abdullah to remove Mir Asr from his lap and place him on the ground so that Allah may deal with me with mercy.
On this occasion, Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas kept giving him consolation and good news. After spending three days in agony, he succumbed to his injuries and died on 1st Muharram al-Haram, 24 Hijri at the age of 62.
Hazrat Sahib led the funeral prayer. Hazrat Ali, Hazrat Uthman, Hazrat Abdul Rahman, Hazrat Saad bin Waqqas, Hazrat Talha and Hazrat Abdul Rahman bin Auf took Sayyiduna Umar Farooq to the grave.
