9 Or 10 Muharram Ke Roze Ki Fazilat
Muharram al-Haram is the first month of the Islamic year, which means that the Hijri year begins with Muharram and the Hijri year ends with Dhu al-Hijjah.9 Or 10 Muharram Ke Roze Ki Fazilat in this article we discuss Also, Muharram is one of the four months that Allah Ta’ala has declared as sacred months.
This month has been declared by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as the sign of Allah. Thus, all the days and months belong to Allah Ta’ala, but by comparing them to Allah Ta’ala, His excellence is revealed.
One of the virtues of Madharm is that this month is the best day after Ramadan. It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said: The best fast after Ramadan is the month of Muharram fasting. (Tirmandi Vol. 1 p. 157)
The Holy Prophet said: After the month of Ramadan, the best fasts are the fasts of the holy month of Allah. (Sahih Muslim)
On the authority of Hazrat Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, that I was sitting with the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him, and a gentleman came and asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, which month do you order me to fast after the month of Ramadan?
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said that if you have to fast after the month of Ramadan, fast Muharram because it is the month of Allah. In it there is a day in which Allah accepts one nation and will accept other people as well. (Tarindi Jas 157)
The nation that you accepted is the nation of Bani Israel, as it is explained in the hadith that on the day of Ashura, Allah the Almighty saved Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) and the Bani Israel from Pharaoh and his thanks.
Fasting of Ashura
The tenth day of Muharram is called Na Shura which means the tenth day. This day is a state of special mercy and blessing of Allah Ta’ala.
On this day, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) fasted and ordered Muslims to fast. At first, this fast was obligatory, then when the fasting of Ramadan became obligatory, Muslims were given the option to observe this fast or not. However, the virtue of it was explained that the one who observes the fast will be rewarded with less than the previous year. Sins will be forgiven.
Earlier, this fast was kept for one day, but in order to oppose the Jews, in the end, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said that if I live for Anand and a year, God willing, I will also fast on the ninth of Muharram, but on this wish, we agreed.
He passed away before.
Ahadis Related to Ashura Fasting
Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says that before the fasting of Ramadan became obligatory, people used to fast on Ashura and on the day of Ashura, the House of Allah was covered with a veil.
When Ramadan became obligatory, the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said that whoever wants to fast should fast and whoever wants to fast should not eat. (Sahih Bukhari 217)
In another hadith, Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says that the Quraysh used to fast on the day of Ashura during Jahiliyyah, and the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) also used to fast at that time. When he came to Medina Manawra, he observed fast here as well and ordered this fast as well.
When Ramadan is obligatory, the order of fasting on Ashura is abandoned. (Sahih Bukhari p. 254, p. 228)
